I woke up this morning in the middle of a dream of a boy on a journey through the desert searching for treasure and seeing, way off in the distance, an oasis and a chest of gold. Then I flashed to a scene in my future life that reflects the dream I am working towards fulfilling.
As my head cleared from the dream fog, I recognized the scene being from one of my favorite books, The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho. I read it a long time ago, at a time when I was in a tough place. I was newly divorced, unhappy with my job and unsure of my next step. I certainly knew how to make a living, however I had no clue how to live the life I knew in my heart I was born to live. The Alchemist provided me with permission to dream, to pay attention to the insights I had so long ignored and to honor the synchronicities that had gone unnoticed. The Alchemist helped me put my journey, both the good parts and the not so good parts, into perspective and helped me to look deep within my heart and my soul to uncover my dream, create my vision and begin taking action steps toward achieving it. Today, as I prepare to take the next big step towards fulfilling my most recent dream, I am inspired to share some insights from The Alchemist that were prompted by my dream last night. Perhaps it will help to fuel your dream, your purpose and your passion and help you to know the action steps you that are yours to take! “Why do we have to listen to our hearts?" the boy asked. "Because, wherever your heart is, that is where you will find your treasure.” ~Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist “Don't allow your mind to tell your heart what to do. The mind gives up easily” ~Paulo Coelho “No one lights a lamp in order to hide it behind the door. The purpose of light is to create more light, to open people's eyes, to reveal the marvels around.” ~Paulo Coelho " ...and the world we live in will be either better or worse, depending on whether we become better or worse. And that's where the power of love comes in. Because when we love, we always strive to become better than we are. And everything around us becomes better too.” ~Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist “I am surprised how difficult for people is to say "I love you". They only say the three magic words when they are sure they will hear "I love you too" back. C'mon! Spread the energy of love without expecting anything … it is the prerogative of the brave” ~Paulo Coelho “Go and get your things,' he said. 'Dreams mean work.” ~Paulo Coelho Today I have to spend some time clearing up loose ends and get packing for my trip to San Diego for my next session with Jack Canfield. There is so much to do in a limited time, but I will "chunk it down", as Jack says, into bite size pieces and "ask, ask, ask" for help when I need it. Dreams are worth the work to make them come true. What action will you take today to get closer to making your dreams come true? Wishing you all present moments, pleasant days, lots of love and dreams come true! ♥ Trisha |
