Wow ... what a whirlwind this past month has been! I've spent alot of time standing fully present in the magic of the moments ... looking back in order to move ahead to what's next. Exciting times for sure!
I published my first book and, with the help of my teachers, mentors and coaches, launched it into best seller status. My own transformational story is now out there and my past is serving as inspiration to my readers to take new steps towards discovering their own magic. The feedback I am getting from family, friends and new followers is amazing. You can check it out here. I am getting requests for media interviews, to teach live classes and to do personal coaching. I am even being encouraged and led to explore the possibility of turning my book into a movie to further expand my message. As I look back on the process of publishing my story, I can now see clearly into the future of possibilities that I couldn't see when I was living it. Such a cool perspective! Looking back to move ahead ... After the launch, I traveled to Long Beach, California for another phenomenal week in the training room with Jack Canfield at his Success Principles Train the Trainer event; witnessing, experiencing and helping to facilitate the training of the next generation of human potential leaders. I was so excited to hear Jack and Patty, President of The Canfield Training Group, announce their commitment to train ONE MILLION people with Jack's Success Principles work so the trained could, in turn, train even more people. Based on my experience with Jack's work, the commitment to this goal would, indeed, create a ripple effect that has the potential to transform the planet! As they made the announcement, I found myself back in the room at my first Jack Canfield event, Breakthrough to Success in 2010, when I knew that I needed to bring what I was learning to the teens and young adults I was working with. Since that day in 2010, I have further expanded my own breakthrough goal and taken steps to develop and pilot curriculum in several target groups. The results have been amazing and it is clear there is more work to be done to further spread the magic of this work. I have a call with Jack's company to talk about how I can help train teachers and youth service workers to help bring this amazing work to young Looking back to move ahead ... And finally, I spent the July 4th holiday in the midst of the festivities, conversations and connections with the people and places where my story began and unfolded. I was able to gain even more resolution of my past, get more clear on the direction for my future and fully embrace what I need in order to support my day to day connection to the source of my inspiration. Looking back to move ahead ... helping people find their magic! "The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate." ~Oprah Winfrey I have lots to celebrate this week! I reached the breakthrough goal I set in August, 2010 at Breakthrough to Success with Jack Canfield ... to write a book and become a best selling author. At the time I set the goal, I had no idea what I would write about or how to go about achieving best seller status. I am so happy to tell you that with the help of my teachers, mentors and supporters, I reached my goal! My book, Match Meets the Metaphysical: A Transformational Journey to Light and Love, is published in both paperback and electronic formats and I made it to the Amazon Best Seller List! The process was transformational in many ways. I faced fears I didn't even know I had and asked for help when I wanted to pretend I didn't need any help. There were times when I almost sabotaged the process; times when I put the project on hold; times when I simply wanted to give up. But with the help of my support system, I kept taking the next right step. I walked the talk I teach to my students, clients and audiences and I got the results I was shooting for. I will never forget two things about this process; the day I hit send on the final edit and the moment I hit the best seller list. I was sitting on my porch with my cat on my lap and my dog sleeping at my feet. They both opened up their eyes and witnessed my happy tears. Speaking of happy tears, make that three things that I will never forget about this process ... taking the time to celebrate! My book launch party was so fun and it was wonderful to be surrounded by the people who supported me all along the way. After a couple of days of rest, I spent the day surrounded by the flowers from the launch party answering emails, phone calls, interview requests and opening congratulatory cards. I am beginning to prepare to clarify my next breakthrough goal. Perhaps it will be to get the book produced as a movie. Maybe it will be securing the funding for that teen curriculum I've been piloting for nationwide release. Or perhaps I will get more clarity next week while I spend 5 days in the training room with Jack Canfield. What's your breakthrough goal? What can you commit to that will quantum leap your career, your life, your success? Who are your support systems to help you get there? What is your next right step? And how will you celebrate the small successes along the way to your breakthrough success? It's time!!! I am gearing up for an exciting week and would love for you to join me in the excitement! My first novel launches on Amazon on Wednesday, June 12th! As I've shared, I set the goal to write a book at my first Jack Canfield event in August of 2010 with no idea what I would write about. In the fall of 2011, a pretty profound metaphysical experience with a friend and my neighbor launched me into 3 weeks of non-stop writing, which ultimately became the foundation of my new novel. I hope you will join me for Julia's transformational journey through challenges, changes, uncertainty and toward her true essence ... and I hope you will also share the link with friends! The link is http://www.matchmeetsthemetaphysical.com Available soon!!! My interview with Mark, the real life medium who, through a shared metaphsycial experience, prompted me to write the book In this casual conversation we each share our perspectives on how a simple cup of tea turned into an event that has transformed the lives of many. Check back here to listen to the interview, which I hope to have ready within the next week or two. The process of writing this book has led me to countless conversations with people of all ages, coming forth to ask me questions and share their own experiences and sometimes their fear, apprehension and skepticism about all things metaphysical. A few people have even asked me to coach them through their experiences and questions and help them determine how to develop and use their skills to better serve themselves and others. Thus a new book project is in the works! I'll be interviewing several psychics and asking them to share about their own psychic development as well as their advice about how to develop and use psychic abilities in day to day life. I am also interested in stories ... stories of metaphysical experiences, encounters, intuitive flashes, etc. and how they have helped to change the course of life in a positive way. If you or someone you know would like to share a story for potential inclusion in the book, please email me at [email protected]. Confidentiality will be maintained and written permission to share your story will be obtained prior to being published. In light of my fascination with the power of the subconscious mind and the need for people to be more aware of how it plays out in their lives, I published my first audio course, At the Waterline: Harnessing the Power of the Subconscious Mind. Check it out and feel free to share ... this is a great way to begin changing your life with conscious and subconscious intention! And finally, I'm gearing up for another week in the training room with Jack Canfield and the 2013 Train the Trainer class. Looking forward to reconnecting with Jack, the Assisting Team and participants for another transformational week! Stay tuned for pearls and blog posts about this Long Beach experience! I just got the final proof of my book in the mail! The book launch is well under way and set to go live on June 12th! I am beyond excited ... and a little bit scared! Where does that fear come from? Despite all the time, energy and effort I've spent learning how to break through and push fear aside, out of nowhere it still creeps in every once in awhile. Fear of failure? Fear of success? Fear of something I can't even put into words sometimes? It doesn't really matter ... it is what it is. And I must walk through it to get to the other side. It's part of the human experience that comes along with the joy, I suppose. All I can do is do my best to stay grounded, stay connected to my heart and continue to take the next right step! In August of 2010, I sat in Jack Canfield's Breakthrough to Success workshop and set a goal to write a book. I had no idea what it would be about; however deep down inside I knew I had a book in me. Maybe more than one. Perhaps a series. I let the ideas flow but it wasn't until a year later that the inspiration for my first book came. It happened while I was sharing a cup of tea with my neighbors and a young woman I've been pretty connected to since she was 12 years old. The experience was profound and from there the story unfolded. It came over me like a wave and woke me up many a night to write the next chapter or with a new idea for the cover design. Over a three week period, the words flowed and the book wrote me. The wrting part was easy. The hard part was taking the steps necessary to publish the book. And the hardest part ... summoning up the courage to share the story. It's a story of struggle, romance and transformation with a paranormal twist that will intrigue believers and skeptics alike. Through the process, I have learned alot about myself, my fears, my blocks, my passion and my purpose. I have developed profound connections with amazing people and have had some mystically wonderful experiences. And, yes, I've been afraid. It is my hope that the story touches you, helps you transcend fear, opens you up to possibilities and somehow supports and inspires you to be the best you can be! We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time. It's been awhile since I've posted to my blog. I got overwhelmed with the business of wrapping up the school year, running the clinic, another week of Train the Trainer with Jack Canfield in Newport Beach, another training trip to Los Angeles, book editing and publishing deadlines ... the list goes on and on. Before I knew it it was July and I realized that I had never stopped to take some time off. So when I was faced with the choice of more writing or some time to rest and rejuvenate, I choose to take some to be in that inbetween place ... that place of transition where intentional quiet and contemplation balanced with healthy outdoor activity seems to serve me well. I am lucky to live in a beautiful place, a vacation desitination for many, so it's easy to find beautiful places to relax, recreate and rejuvenate. Here's a photo log of where I've been ... from my desk trying to negotiate space with my furry friends Leah and Sylvester, to Newport Beach with Jack, to the clinic, hanging out with the loons on Crystal Lake, watching the sunset over the Bay, to hiking along the ridge line overlooking the Great Gulf Wilderness from the summit of Mount Washington or simply hanging out in the garden with Annie and Luna. It's been a nice summer so far, but it took me some time to remember to practice what I preach I implement Jack's time management system of focus days and planning days and fun days with nothing work related for a full 24 hours. I love this system, when I remember to use it. I love the sense of accomplishment, the personal freedom and the enhanced productivity it offers. This human experience is a never ending transformational journey that is never quite complete ... always learning, always growing, always remembering, always adjusting, always reprioritizing. My plan is to get back into the habit of posting on a regular basis and keeping you up to date on my latest projects, perspectives and pursuits. I hope you are enjoying your summer and remembering to take time out to have fun, rest, rejuvenate and reconnect to your passion, purpose and the essence of who you are! A Bittersweet Goodbye
Article by Jack Canfield Every summer I hold my Breakthrough to Success training and I've had over 5,000 people graduate from the program and literally transform their lives. During the past 30 years, I've guided high achievers through the time-proven system participants learn during Breakthrough to Success and it has been some of the most rewarding work I've ever done! However, after careful contemplation - and with 2012 being a year of massive transformation and change - I've decided that the time is right to move forward with my plans to retire this 7-day training program. This will be such a bittersweet goodbye for me as Breakthrough to Success is hands-down my favorite week of the year, because I get to help hundreds of high achievers break through their limitations and finally get to where they want to be in life. I am busy actively working on many new projects for 2013 (it's just the training that's "retiring," not me personally) but if you’ve ever wanted my personal guidance and attention for 7 full days, I invite you to attend the grand finale for this one-of-a-kind program. During this life-changing 7-day retreat, we'll work together to:

Don't forget the code GRADFRIEND when you register! I am so grateful for the opportunity to be spending the next several days in San Diego training with my teacher, mentor and coach, Jack Canfield. I connected with Jack's Success Principles about three years ago and spent the better part of the summer kayaking around Crystal Lake taking his 30 day audio course (which I HIGHLY recommend). One of the teens I work with helped me download to course onto an MP3 player so I was able to take it wherever I went. My life hasn't been the same since! Six months later I had manifested tuition and travel expenses to cover my attendance at Jack's Breakthrough to Success live event and a year and a half later I am enrolled in his year long mentorship program. It's been an amazing, wild and magical ride! I am so grateful to be having this experience and even more excited to be sharing it with you and the teens and young adults I work with! Jack's Success Principles are a like having the combination to a lock. Once you know the combination, the door to endless possiblities and magical things begin to happen. My dream is to further expand my knowledge of the principles and work with those in transition to support and inspire them to live their lives in line with their passion and unique purpose while creating goals and action plans to support success and ultimately live the life of their dreams. Here are a couple of pearls from our Day 1 session with Jack: Pearl Number 1 For a quick and dependable way to increase joy in your life remember that like attracts like and try this. Make a list of 25 things that bring you joy and post it somewhere you'll see it every day. Do at least one of these things every day. Repeat for 40 days to solidify the habit of vibrating with joy. Pearl Number 2 Success Principle #1: Take 100% Responsibility for Your Life With the Formula Event + Response = Outcome Jack suggests that when things happen in life that we're not quite clear about, ask the question "What is the opportunity that this is?" He learned this from his teacher and mentor W. Clement Stone. It's a great way to help us choose our response to the events in our lives intentionally, with the goal being to focus on the lessons before us and create better outcomes. I first met Jack at a professional conference about 25 years ago and bought his very first program Self Esteem and Peak Performance, which helped me immensely in my early professional career .
We were reconnected a few years ago in a rather serendipitious way. I was kayaking with a friend who suggested that I read a book she had just finished. She offered to lend me the book, however I joked about having just turned 50 and was beginning to have some vision issues that made reading a lot less enjoyable. She suggested audible books and an MP3 player so I could listen while kayaking, knitting, driving, etc. Briliiant! When I got home, I went to audible.com to check out the book she had recommended. I got sidetracked by a "join today and get this book free" offer. The free book was Jack Canfield's Success Principles. A few hours later I was walking along a country road listening to Jack on the new MP3 player my teen friend Liam helped me pick out and set up. That was the beginning of major transformation for me. Next I purchased Jack's 30 day audio course and the next thing I knew, I had manifested tuition and expenses to cover my attendance at his Breakthrough to Success event in Scottsdale Arizona. In 9 days I leave to begin a year long mentorship program with Jack in his Train the Trainer program. My goal is to incorporate the Success Principles in the work I do with women, young adults and teens to help them connect with life purpose and develop a plan to achieve their goals. If 2012 is your year for transformation, join me in studying and incorporating Jack's work into your life and the lives of those you love! _Research indicates that being in a state of gratitude, love and appreciation affects us, and those around us, on an emotional and physiological level.
