Is there a dream buried deep within you? In the spring of 2010, I was restless, confused and uninspired. Through a series of synchronicities and a leap of faith that launched me into inspired action, I found myself sitting in the training room with Jack Canfield at his signature Breakthrough to Success event.
Three years later, I am clear about my purpose, travelling along an intentional path toward my dreams with an exciting vision for my future. My life is magical and every day is filled with inspiration. I am supported by people who believe in me and my dreams while I help others to connect with their unique purpose and discover their own magic. Perhaps 2014 is your year to thrive ... to uncover your dream ... to get back on the path towards your heart's desire? See what Jack has to say ... and stay tuned for an exciting announcement coming later this week about how I can help you can get started! Before going on to Jack's article, won't you take a couple of minutes to click here to participate in a quick survey ... we value your insight and perspective! Life is a Laboratory by Jack Canfield Everyone has a dream. Many of us simply lose sight of it or let it go because of some earlier disappointment, rejection, or lack of progress. The natural tendency is to protect ourselves from getting hurt again, so we deny our dream, afraid to reach out for the people, resources, and opportunities that could support it. I want to share a quick story about my friend Catherine Lanigan. She had earned a college scholarship on her strengths as a gifted writer. Catherine’s Harvard professor gave her an F on her first short story and convinced her she had no talent. She wrote nothing more for 13 years. Then one day in her small Texas town Catherine visited a movie set. When she expressed her desire to be a writer, one of the scriptwriters shot back, "B.S.! If you wanted to be a writer, you would have written." When Catherine explained how her professor discouraged her, the scriptwriter replied, "An academic guy? What does he know? I write for a living. Tell you what. You go home and write something and send it to me, and I’ll tell you if I think you have any talent in the real world of commercial literature." A year later, Catherine finished her novel and sent it to the scriptwriter, who loved it and sent it to his agent in New York. The agent also loved it and asked to represent her work. Catherine’s first novel was followed by numerous others including Romancing the Stone and Jewel of the Nile, which became a major motion picture. Is there a dream buried deep within you? If so, you owe it to yourself—and the world—to fully express it. First you need to get in touch with your dream. When you get in touch with the essence of who you are and what it is that really wants to come through you, it propels you forward, allowing you to overcome any obstacle, no matter how big. Secondly, gather feedback from many people (but don’t let someone else’s opinion bury your dream as Catherine did for so long). Whether you’re venturing into a new career, proposing a project in your community, or developing a computer application, get as much feedback as you can. Weigh it; then follow your own instincts. Finally, try things you’ve never tried before to see what works. When we were kids, we’d try anything, but now? Today a child having a computer problem will hit every button to get it to work. Many adults fear touching the wrong button will break it. Embrace a spirit of curiosity and playfulness in your pursuit. If one thing doesn’t work, try another. If that doesn’t work, try something else. This can be great fun. Imagine life as one big laboratory—and keep experimenting until your dream yields the results you want. What stands between you and what you most desire? Your answers might relate to a lack of money, time, support from family, or all of these. Obstacles can seem so numerous, so obvious, and so tough to change. You can relate to obstacles in many ways. Typical responses are to explain them orresist them. Both responses take a lot of time and energy. And both anchor you firmly in the past, keeping your focus on areas of your life that are not working. To immediately generate alternatives, remember a simple analogy... Imagine that you’re driving down a scenic highway. Suddenly you come to a huge rock in the middle of the road. At this moment you have several options. You could try to explain how the rock ended up there. You could also go into resistance mode, complaining about the carelessness of highway construction or the lack of state funding for rock removal. Or, you could bypass all this negativity and remove the obstacle from your life at once. Instead of explaining the rock or resisting it, just drive around it. When faced with obstacles, people often respond with questions based on explanation and resistance, such as: - Why am I so alone? - Why does this always happen to me? - Why am I such a failure? However, you always have another option. You can ask questions that help you drive around any obstacle in your life. Questions have uncanny power. Questions direct your attention— and along with it, how you think and how you feel. If you want to create different thoughts, feelings, and results into your life, then ask different questions. Start now by skipping the why questions and begin asking what questions, such as: 1) What’s the lesson here? There’s an old saying about learning from experience: Beware the person with twenty years of experience. This may consist of one year of learning and nineteen years of repetition. The point is that experiences do not come prepackaged with empowering lessons. Everything hinges on how you interpret experiences, and your interpretations can change over the years. A single event can take you a step closer to emotional contraction or expansion. It all depends on how you interpret that event. Psychologist Martin Seligman has made a career by studying how human beings interpret their experience. He notes that each of us has an explanatory style. People who chronically feel helpless tend to explain events in ways that are:
These are signals that the world is expanding to accommodate your growth. Instead of resisting a challenge, just lean into it. Ask yourself: How can I interpret this event in a more powerful way? What’s a positive lesson that’s waiting here to be learned? 2) What’s great about having this problem? There’s an easy answer to this question: “Nothing!” However, looking beyond that knee-jerk response can quickly open up your perspective. Tony Robbins offers an example in his book Awakening the Giant Within. He recalls a time when he’d been on the road for nearly 100 days out of 120. Returning to his office, he found a stack of urgent memos and a list of 100 phone calls that he needed to personally return. Before making these discoveries, he was tired. Now he felt exhausted. Tony managed to shift his internal state simply by asking: What’s great about having this problem? He then realized that just a few years ago he would have been grateful to get calls from twenty people—let alone one hundred people with national reputations. This insight was enough to break his pattern of frustration. He found himself feeling grateful that so many people he loved and respected were willing to connect with him. 3) What’s my next action? This question shines a spotlight on solutions. No matter what happens, you can choose what to say and do in response. Rather than manifesting resistance or explanation, you can choose your next action. Successful people hold a bias for action. Add inspiration and intention to the mix, and you gain an unstoppable momentum. The premise of the book is that our success in life and in reaching our goals and dreams is all about myelin and where and how we choose to build it up.
Myelin. I remember learning about myelin in pharmacy school. It's an essential part of our nervous system. The coating, if you will, of the neuronal pathways that make our bodies do what we do ... think, feel, act, perform, process information, act, react to impulses and stimulii, etc. The best way I know to describe myelin (see diagram below) is to use a coated wire as an example. On the outside, the rubber serves a coating or insulation to keep the inside wires together and to keep the electricity from leaking out, thus the wires allow electricity to flow through them and provide power to whatever they are connected to. It is the same in our nervous system, with a slight difference. We have the power in our physiology to generate our own myelin. The more we perform a task, think a thought or accomplish a complex set of movements, the more myelin is formed and the thicker it gets. The good news is that the thicker the myelin, the more accomplished we are at whatever it is we are doing. As Daniel Coyne points out, practice makes perfect because myelin gets thicker and thicker along the neuronal pathway towards mastering a task, making the neurons work with more precision, efficiency and speed. Unfortunately, it is just as easy to build myelin along pathways that do not serve us as it is to build myelin over the pathways that, with persistent practice, will lead us to mastery. This weekend I spent alot of time with family. I was amazed to observe the result of what I learned this morning was thickly myelinized fear pathways and negative thought patterns. Unfortunately, my family of origin was raised on fear ... and, for a long time, I made my choices within the deep core of fear-based pathways surrounded by the thick myelin linings that I had inadvertently created. Fear is our natural response to an environment that threatens our survival, however, in this day in age, our fears, more often than not, no longer serve us in moving forward in the direction of our dreams and goals. I was struck by the quote cited above "It's all about deep practice, ignited by a vision of what is possible, fueled by passion and supported by strong teachers that enables us to rewire our brain with myelin in all the right places." ~Daniel Coyle, The Talent Code I am grateful that I have been able to break free of most of the subconscious, limiting fear patterns of my past. Today, when they show up, I can observe them and reframe them using my vision, passion, positive thought patterns and new skills I've developed as fuel, with the help of my teachers coaches and support network. Today I am learning to build myelin around the pathways to my goals, hopes and dreams. When i find myself on the fear pathway, it isn't long that my construction crew helps reroute me to my own personal Myelin Highway as I continue on the road to creating the life of my dreams! How about you? Do you have a support team to help you reroute fear? Have you identified your unique vision, passion and purpose? Are you traveling your own Myelin Highway to success, consciously reframing old fear patterns? Or do you find yourself struggling to break through old patterns of thinking, believing and acting that limit your possibilities? What Would You Do This Year If You Had No Fear?7/30/2013 In a little less than a week, Jack Canfield will be welcoming Breakthrough to Success 2013 participants to the powerful "heavy mental" music and messages of Jana Stanfield.
Although I won't be in the training room this time around, I can still remember the excitement I felt on that first day. Little did I know that BTS would transform my life, providing me with a set of tools and a network of support to overcome fear, clarify my passion and purpose and reframe old beliefs that no longer serve me. It all began with a very powerful song; in it a couple of powerful questions that I reflected upon, journaled about and made a commitment to work on. I journaled about writing a book and sharing my story. I journaled about incorporating Jack's powerful work into the work I do with teens. Three years later, my book is a published best seller, my story is impacting my readers in huge ways and I am in the process of lining up collaborative partners to expand my Pathways to Success curriculum pilot to students and teachers across the country. It's a never ending process, a sometimes arduous, slow journey riddled with old fears I thought I had already released. ... but it's a magical one fueled by passion and purpose that continues to reveal the next right step, the lesson that lies within the struggle, and the transformational power behind the fear. I invite you to watch Jana perform the song that continues to inspire me as I press forward, step by step towards my goals and stirive to live my best life. and I invite you to reflect on your answers to her questions: What would you do today of you were brave? What would you do this year if you had no fear? Of course, if there's anything I can do to support you or the young people in your life with classes, coaching or resources, email me at trisharx@aol.com Are you ready? http://youtu.be/UF5V2PEujqs What do Vernon Davis and Tia Torres have in common? Both have a unique expression for what they are called to do AND they’re living their life’s work.
Top-ranked NFL tight end and 49ers star Vernon Davis, owns Gallery 85, an exclusive art gallery in Santana Row in San Jose, California. Gallery 85 offers a wide range of visual artists a venue for high-end exposure for their work while raising funds for the Vernon Davis Foundation for the Arts, which promotes arts education and art appreciation for at-risk youth and awards college art school scholarships for talented inner-city youth. Some would say Vernon’s life’s work is to be a great tight end, while others would say it is running his nonprofit organization. Another perspective is that both are part of his life’s work. Then there’s Tia Torres, an iconic figure who rescues pit bulls. What started as a part-time interest in rescuing dogs has become Tia’s life’s work. Having worked as a gang counselor at one point in her career, her passion for rescuing animals turned into what is now known to millions as the TV show Pit Bulls and Parolees. In the late 1990s, during a visit to a local animal shelter, Tia met a four-year-old pit bull, which made a huge impression on her. She touched Tia’s heart and was instrumental in Tia’s pursuing her new calling. The journey to save pit bulls was a rough one with many obstacles along the way. But with her big “why” always in the forefront of her journey, Tia overcame incredible obstacles to become known as one of the most powerful dog rescuers of all time. Because of Tia’s work, thousands of pit bulls destined to be throw-away dogs now live in loving homes. Her work not only saved these amazing creatures, but she has transformed the misunderstanding people had about pit bulls into love. It is now easier to get the word out about what Tia and others like her are doing to make a difference in the world. There have been amazing advances in communication technology since the time when she first began her rescue mission. Whatever your calling, what is your bigger “why?" Certainly there are times when things get really tough for Tia Torres and her pit bull rescue program. What allows her to stay the course is that her commitment is bigger than she is. It’s the same with Vernon Davis. At times there are likely challenges he must overcome to stay the course. Yet, he does. And through Internet and social media marketing he has been able to raise awareness about the needs of talented inner-city artists in a much bigger way. We are often led to believe that there should be no struggles, no hardships, no obstacles in pursuing our dreams. Give me a break! There will be times when things are a challenge, and it is often the challenges that inspire us in our true calling. I've had a few challenging days ... difficulty staying focused, procrastinating on one of the items on my to do list that is a major priority, and letting some things slide that fuel my energy and keep my space and my head clear.
When I'm in that place, I go to the Coach's Coach ... my teacher and mentor Jack Canfield. He always has something that can get me out of my funk and get me back to focus. Today is no exception. Good or Bad, Habits Always Deliver Results By Jack Canfield You are an accumulation of your habits. From how you get out of bed, how you shower, how you dress, how you walk, sit, and talk, how you respond to the world, how you act in front of others, and how you think; you're living out your habits. Habits are necessary. They free up your mind so you can concentrate on how to survive day to day. You don't have to think about how to drive your car so you can be on the lookout for danger while you are driving. You don't have to think about how to walk so you can concentrate on where you're going. Unfortunately, habits can also keep you locked in self-destructive patterns, which will limit your success. Is there something you want to accomplish in life that requires you to up-level your game? Whatever it is that you want to achieve, you will need to drop those bad habits that are lead to a dead-end and develop new ones that are in alignment with the life you want to live. People don't suddenly appear in the life they want to live... their habits play a large part in determining their outcome. What are the habits you have that are keeping you from achieving your goals? Really be honest with yourself here... Are you always running late? Do you return phone calls within 24 hours? Do you get enough sleep? Do you follow through on your promises? Do you plan out your day? Imagine what your life would be like if all your habits were their productive counterparts!
I'd like to help you get moving toward creating more successful habits, so I'd recommend you develop four of your new success habits each year, one for each quarter. Once you pick the new habit you're ready to adopt, next you'll want to create a method that will support your new habit. Here are some ideas... You could write it down on a card that you keep with you and read several times a day. You could make it a part of your daily visualization. You could also enlist the help of an accountability partner who has habits to change, or work with a personal coach who can keep you on track. It's important to make a 100% commitment to your new habit, so be specific about the steps that you're willing to take in order to drop an old habit and adopt a new one. Don't be vague about how you will change your habits. Spell it out for yourself so you can recognize situations that motivate you to act out your new habit. Just developing four new habits a year will dramatically shift your life to be more in line with your vision. And the more in line it becomes, the easier the other habits are to replace because your perspective is shifting and you can see more clearly how your old habits aren't serving you anymore. Make the decision. Make the commitment. Then watch your new, positive life unfold! Are you "stuck" in this area? There's still time to join me in transforming your life into the one you truly want atBreakthrough to Success. The results have been phenomenal, my energy has shifted and my life has literally become magical. There is positive evidence of the Law of Attraction present in my life every day as I move towards my goals and I have learned how to be in tune to divine guidance along the way.
The best part of it all is that through my teaching, coaching, mentoring and writing, I am able to teach others how to do the same! My dream is to bring Jack's work to teens and young adults across the country and ultimately to have a retreat center that is based on Jack's Success Principles and attracts people who are in search of their passion, purpose and best vision for their life and want to learn the entrepreneurial skills and tools and connect to a network of support to help them create it! What could be better than that? In my mind and heart, there's not much. Every once in awhile I get sidetracked from my goals and vision. Actually, quite often if the truth be told. Perhaps it's part of my creative process ... or sometimes it's simply procrastination. Or is it something else? Something happens that gets distracts me and grabs my attention. Often times I have no idea where a particular thought came from, or why I followed the impulse to make that call or go to that place or what that dream meant, or why I had that conversation with the stranger, or why I landed on that webpage. Until I get goosebumps. That's when I know I'm onto something. That's when I know it's time to pay close attention. Goosebumps are one of the ways the Universe gets my attention to move in a direction I might never have gone on my own. Check out this goosebump story ... perhaps you will help me see where it goes! As you may know from reading my posts, I published a book titled Match Meets the Metaphysical: A Transformational Journey to Light and Love. It was released on June 12, 2013 and became a best seller overnight! I set the goal to write a best selling book back in August 2010 while attending Breakthrough to Success, my first Canfield event. Apparently, according to the Universe’s plan, that was just the beginning of my bigger vision! I was inspired to write my story after a pretty significant sequence of metaphysical experiences that literally rocked my world. I needed some help sorting it all out and consulted with the White Mountain Center for Creative Development and the Hypnosis Center. I received support and guidance from their hypnotherapists and psychic mediums which helped to clarify parts of my story as it was unfolding. Once I got clear and was ready to write, I connected with the founders of the Center, Penny and Michael Hathaway, who provided me with some coaching on the writing, editing and cover design of the book. I am forever grateful for the encouragement, support and guidance I received throughout the process, but I am beginning to think there's something even more to our connection. The morning after I hit "Approve" and sent the final proof to the publisher, I woke up in the middle of a wild dream. I was on a movie set, sitting in a director's chair, beads of sweat on her forehead from the bright lights, watching the film crew shoot a scene from her book while the Blues Traveler lyrics "Hollywood's calling for the movie rights" ran through my head. I couldn't fall back to sleep. I got up, made coffee and went online to check email. I was a bit surprised to find an email from my mentor Jack Canfield’s publicist inviting me to learn how to prepare my book manuscript to be turned into a movie. I was struck by the synchronicity ... and immediately got goosebumps. Goosebumps make me pay attention. I have learned that when I get goosebumps, I need to look for signs that will lead me to the next right step ... and often to amazing connections, synchronicities and magical opportunities! I followed the link and it led me to a program designed to help authors get their books ready for the big screen; guiding their projects through the process of getting them ready for a producer, getting the project into the hands of at least two producers, and coaching authors on meeting with producers about movie options. I could barely catch my breath. For a minute I imagined what it might be like to made my book into a movie. I could clearly visualize the story on the big screen. I also knew that this program might very well be the next step to take to make that happen, but, up until now, I didn’t see what this was really all about. Unfortunately, publishing the book has been a costly process both financially and in terms of time, so I decided to set a long term goal to bring the book to the screen over the next year or two when funds loosened up. Fast forward a few weeks after my book was released … positive reviews have been pouring in from readers from all directions. I am especially excited and overwhelmed with the feedback from readers telling me that the book is impacting their lives in a big way; helping them to see things from a whole new perspective and giving them tools to fuel their personal journey towards a life of passion and purpose. Several readers have suggested that the book would make a great movie! And the majority of the people giving me the positive feedback are precisely my target audience for my retreat center! Hmmmm ... Enter ... The Universe! A few days ago, I had a repeat of the movie set dream and woke up to the same lyrics … and goosebumps! Again I couldn't fall back to sleep. I signed onto Facebook just in time to see a status post by one of my friends that included a link to an article by Jack Canfield (my mentor) about his success principle "Ask! Ask! Ask!" ... followed by another friend's post about GoFundMe ... followed by a whole bunch more goosebumps! I read the article and checked out gofundme and the goosebumps quickly led me to the next right step. The Universe is calling me to take big action. It's calling for a big ASK … and it doesn’t seem to want to wait for my long range timeline. This is not really about making my book a movie for the purpose of fame and fortune ... it's about raising money to support my ultimate goal of bringing Jack's amazing work to lots of people! I approached the White Mountain Center for Creative Development and asked them to help me raise $5000 to cover the cost of the book to movie program. They were happy to support the fundraising campaign ... so here we are ASKing for your support to bring my story to the screen. Specifically, your contribution will support me in working directly with a publicist and screenwriter to develop the screenplay vision, logline and treatment (Hollywood lingo) for my book, get the project in front of at least two Hollywood producers over the next several months and coach me about meeting with producers to discuss and negotiate movie options. Should I get a movie contract, the money would go towards developing programs and physical space for my bigger goal! You can visit the project page at http://www.gofundme.com/3ltzi8 to check out the donation incentives! Feel free to share this blog post on Facebook and pass itt on to to your contacts who might want to learn more about paying attention to their own goosebumps and letting the magic of the Law of Attraction flow through their lives! Match Meets the Metaphysical: A Transformational Journey to Light and Love is a profound story that touches upon a realm that is often experienced, but is not often given a voice. The book is based on a true story about a young woman going through major life transition while developing her intuitive and psychic abilities, exploring past life connections and learning to trust guidance she gets from the other side. This movie, if brought to the screen, will entertain a wide range of viewers while opening up an important dialogue about life that goes well beyond our five senses and providing insight about our purpose for being on the planet. Based on the work I do with kids and the kinds of questions and stories I get from them about their metaphysical experiences, I believe that the timing is perfect for this project to come to fruition. Clearly the Universe does as well ... thus all the goosebumps. Best case scenario is that the movie will be one way to help adults open up to possibilities and support their kids as the veil continues to get thinner ... and help my big dream come to fruition. Worst case scenario is that I will have what I need to continue to pursue movie rights with additional producers and the book will continue to entertain readers and provide insight to anyone looking for ways to go through transition, reduce fear and expand their capacity for unconditional love. Either way, it's a win! For more information about the book or to order it, visit www.matchmeetsthemetaphysical.com Please tweet and post this link http://www.gofundme.com/3ltzi8 Facebook and share this request with your email lists. The Universe certainly brought the project to this step … I hope you will help me take it to the next step! Please note that donations are tax deductible. Contributions received in excess of specific project expenses will go to the tuition scholarship fund for classes and programs offered at the White Mountain Center for Creative Development and the White Mountain Hypnosis Center. And when I make the movie deal, the mone will go towards funding my ongoing big audacious goal to bring Jack’s Success Principles to young people all over the country and to create a space where people can come to immerse themselves in this transformational work and create the life of their dreams! Check out the gofundme page at http://www.gofundme.com/3ltzi8 Wow ... what a whirlwind this past month has been! I've spent alot of time standing fully present in the magic of the moments ... looking back in order to move ahead to what's next. Exciting times for sure!
I published my first book and, with the help of my teachers, mentors and coaches, launched it into best seller status. My own transformational story is now out there and my past is serving as inspiration to my readers to take new steps towards discovering their own magic. The feedback I am getting from family, friends and new followers is amazing. You can check it out here. I am getting requests for media interviews, to teach live classes and to do personal coaching. I am even being encouraged and led to explore the possibility of turning my book into a movie to further expand my message. As I look back on the process of publishing my story, I can now see clearly into the future of possibilities that I couldn't see when I was living it. Such a cool perspective! Looking back to move ahead ... After the launch, I traveled to Long Beach, California for another phenomenal week in the training room with Jack Canfield at his Success Principles Train the Trainer event; witnessing, experiencing and helping to facilitate the training of the next generation of human potential leaders. I was so excited to hear Jack and Patty, President of The Canfield Training Group, announce their commitment to train ONE MILLION people with Jack's Success Principles work so the trained could, in turn, train even more people. Based on my experience with Jack's work, the commitment to this goal would, indeed, create a ripple effect that has the potential to transform the planet! As they made the announcement, I found myself back in the room at my first Jack Canfield event, Breakthrough to Success in 2010, when I knew that I needed to bring what I was learning to the teens and young adults I was working with. Since that day in 2010, I have further expanded my own breakthrough goal and taken steps to develop and pilot curriculum in several target groups. The results have been amazing and it is clear there is more work to be done to further spread the magic of this work. I have a call with Jack's company to talk about how I can help train teachers and youth service workers to help bring this amazing work to young Looking back to move ahead ... And finally, I spent the July 4th holiday in the midst of the festivities, conversations and connections with the people and places where my story began and unfolded. I was able to gain even more resolution of my past, get more clear on the direction for my future and fully embrace what I need in order to support my day to day connection to the source of my inspiration. Looking back to move ahead ... helping people find their magic! I feel like celebrating! It's been that kind of week ... rather that kind of year ... for me and there's more of it coming up! As I end another amazing school year and join the class of 2013 in celebrating their success and preparing for the next step in their journey, I feel immense gratitude for the honor of sharing in the lives and the stories of so many young people through my work in the classroom, the clinic and the community. I am packing up for another week in the training room with Jack and my colleagues on Jack's Assisting Team and I can already feel the excitement course through my body! I am honored to help Jack facilitate the process of human transformation and the development of human potential! On a personal note, this week marked the completion of a huge goal for me with a very successful launch of my best selling first novel on Amazon! I am happy to announce that the e-book version is now available on Amazon as well! I love celebrating success and giving gifts ... and in honor of everyone who is looking to create more passion, purpose, success, love and magic in their lives and for new graduates everywhere who are just beginning to create their own journey ... And finally, I am grateful to the young people I work with ... who have got a handle on the latest in technology and taught me that you can, indeed, download Kindle books to your laptop, PC, tablet, iPad, and even your smartphone! Amazon provides the free tool right on the order page! Keep in mind that I love hearing from my students, clients and readers, so if you like the book and are so inclined to post a review on Amazon, that would be much appreciated! "The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate." ~Oprah Winfrey I have lots to celebrate this week! I reached the breakthrough goal I set in August, 2010 at Breakthrough to Success with Jack Canfield ... to write a book and become a best selling author. At the time I set the goal, I had no idea what I would write about or how to go about achieving best seller status. I am so happy to tell you that with the help of my teachers, mentors and supporters, I reached my goal! My book, Match Meets the Metaphysical: A Transformational Journey to Light and Love, is published in both paperback and electronic formats and I made it to the Amazon Best Seller List! The process was transformational in many ways. I faced fears I didn't even know I had and asked for help when I wanted to pretend I didn't need any help. There were times when I almost sabotaged the process; times when I put the project on hold; times when I simply wanted to give up. But with the help of my support system, I kept taking the next right step. I walked the talk I teach to my students, clients and audiences and I got the results I was shooting for. I will never forget two things about this process; the day I hit send on the final edit and the moment I hit the best seller list. I was sitting on my porch with my cat on my lap and my dog sleeping at my feet. They both opened up their eyes and witnessed my happy tears. Speaking of happy tears, make that three things that I will never forget about this process ... taking the time to celebrate! My book launch party was so fun and it was wonderful to be surrounded by the people who supported me all along the way. After a couple of days of rest, I spent the day surrounded by the flowers from the launch party answering emails, phone calls, interview requests and opening congratulatory cards. I am beginning to prepare to clarify my next breakthrough goal. Perhaps it will be to get the book produced as a movie. Maybe it will be securing the funding for that teen curriculum I've been piloting for nationwide release. Or perhaps I will get more clarity next week while I spend 5 days in the training room with Jack Canfield. What's your breakthrough goal? What can you commit to that will quantum leap your career, your life, your success? Who are your support systems to help you get there? What is your next right step? And how will you celebrate the small successes along the way to your breakthrough success? It's time!!! |
